Life In Harm's WayA Poem by John
A madman once told me his life story;
I'll refrain from going into details but i'll try to get the message across in any way I can as painlessly as possible. Life is like a grim goodbye, you know that from "Hello," it had to end this way, but, Love is like a mother's lie, it comforts when it needs to and it leaves you when you realize than nothing will ever be alright. we all have to say goodbye someday, and hope and faith are nothing more than empty little promises, I want to say we'll meet again, but the truth is time has this way of disappearing. Nothing's going to be okay. So trespass on hypocrisy and shine a light on dirty feet and bathe in in an open room and warm them with a friendly seat; don't show them it's an empty tomb they've been waiting for all this time, try to keep the tears from drowning everyone who's left to breathe today, the flood is getting higher and the roof is not too far away. And even as the gap is closed, our screams are drenched in silent prayers, the whole damn world is drowning now, and no one really cares. And no one got to say goodbye, but as we flail so desperately to find a way to drag life on we finally notice, peacefully, the bodies all around are still, surrounded by an empty sea of faces I have finally found for me a way of escaping. And to be alone, just like the rest, as my last breath slips away.
