Looking Glass WarsA Poem by John
Down the rabbit hole we go,
where it leads we may not know, through the dark and danger, Here, you never travel alone. Mr. White Rabbit, what's the rush? I try to follow through growth and brush, and bump into an old friend, my wandering, blond-haired crush. In the courts of the crimson queen, we play her games on the same team, but soon leave this Wonderland, I worry it's not quite what it seems. Late at night I stare at my screen, the pages blinking in black and green, "Is there anybody out there?" She says they're coming for me. In his hands are red and blue, he holds them out and says to choose, There's no going back from this, but there's so much left to lose. Fiver says that the end is near, Hazel says there's nothing to fear, Watership Down awaits us, But the way home isn't clear. Cellar Door, that wondrous phrase. As Frank peels back my final days, I love her the best I can, but I know this is the only way. I helplessly watch her die, Did the Sparrow take her life? I make it all a dream, as my death turns back time.
