No Remedy

Another night awake.

Sleepless, 

not tired but exhausted. 

Silence burning through my thoughts like wildfire. 

I remember, 

how happy I was in a different kind of quiet. 

The moments your eyes, 

gazed into mine trying to memorize the pattern of my breathing. 

I will never forget the colors in those eyes. 

They are seared into every memory, 

that keeps me awake.
