Hiraeth

Hiraeth

A Poem by Jack Baird

Somewhere I had lost our dream
In looking for a life
The fruitless, solitary search
Was called off in the night.

Somehow we had found a way
Of living without strife
Our old, familiar rites
Remind me of a gentler time
