Metal Skeleton

Metal Skeleton

A Poem by AndrewH

A poem about a burnt out abandoned car. For more of my writing visit andrewhenleywriting.wordpress.com

"

Rusted dream vessel

with a backseat boudoir

that favoured hourglasses to cheekbones

and boys who could run fast.

Silent screaming engine,

its numb heartbeat wails

and bleeds black sludge

in a dented casket.

Shattered eyes

blinded by binbags

memories leak out through cracks

like tears.

Its rubber feet were stolen

for journeys to the moon or

anywhere or nowhere or

only to be sold.

The metal bones are creaking

the marrow has run dry

in this crusty dusty rusty

rocket to the sky.
