My Island RoseA Poem by Andrew - Moon FixerThis is for a friend of mine that I met here In writers cafe. I do not hear from her any more. But this is what I felt.My By Andrew Lucero You feel the warm breeze on your face. As you close your eyes to the setting sun. The wind plays in your long dark hair. Your short dress flows as the sea before you. The palm trees sway back in forth. Waves crash, long the shore. But none of this is on your mind. I stand on the deck looking at you. My heart racing as every moment passes. People walk by and talk to each other. I don’t see anyone else on the ship. I just see a beauty on the shore looking at me. I want to cry, but I hold it in. I hold a flower you gave me before I left. On that flower was a kiss you put on it. I see you waving. Good by. I will remember our last kiss. Aloha, My Island girl.
