Waiting for Someone

The sun was going down

She looked around to see if anyone was watching her.

She walked bare footed over the dirt and grass as her dress draged on the ground.

Her finger tips touched the tops of different grave stones.

She smiled at certain stones as she walked by.

The sun was now a memory.

She walked to the mausoleum running her fingers over the chains that enclose it.

Her finger tips traced the marking of the cross on the door.

I’ve come to visit you.

Her arms caressed the door.

One day we will be together again.

She gently kissed the door.

She whispered, I love you.

She smiled as she left.

A big horned owl landed on top of the building.

His deep eyes focused on her.

He hooted, as if to say. We will be waiting.
