The fallen rose

By

I walked through a rose garden.

I see the most beautiful rose

I picked it

As I did this

The thorns cut in to me

I threw the rose on the floor

Blood was on the thorns

I yelled at it.

Why did you do that

I wanted to take you home

And put you in a nice vase

I should crush you with my shoe

The rose laid there

I turned to walk away

I looked back

I saw the rose laying there

A few petals next to it

I understood

That to be truly mine

It had to give something

And I had to give something too

I would give it a home and take care of it

It would give me beauty and love

I picked it up

I bought the most beautiful vase

I could find

I sit in my room

Eating alone

With no one around

Feeling a lone

I look on the window sill

Seeing the most beautiful rose

Giving me

Unconditional love
