Saying goodbye

Saying goodbye

A Poem by A. Fiorillo

We stood there together
You held me in a long embrace
Saying goodbye-
Tears on our face

Nothing on this Earth
Can change the past
Please keep me in your heart
Its all that I ask

As the months go by
We'll slip further apart
Moving on with our lives
Pursuing a fresh start

But every now and again
I see your beautiful eyes
My soul see's the wounds
You've got hidden inside

As We keep pressing on
Life calling us to Live
Seeking fulfillment on our path
Learning love is what you give

As the years pass by
Stress revealed on our skin
Oh how far-apart we have grown
Yet My Heart thinks of you often

Happiness surrounds you now
It surrounds me as well
Time has healed our souls
Time broke the painful spell
