I was naive for thinking this land was safe and free,
Only to learn the nightmare was real, but now my eyes can see
The truth of this place; the lies inherent to this space
False assurance giving in tact, by copyright laws that don't mean jack,
Caused me to break the most sacred rule of Chiraq: My boy, "Thou shall not lack!"
I made myself believe that my right to my work would be respected
But now I see what bullocks it was to believe this and now I'm left feeling dejected.
My love for the art of writing has not waned, only my romance with this site rejected
I let down my guard too much it seems, and my work I left on here neglected.
I regret nothing as I go, I made a few friends and offered help when I could;
I displayed my prose too; maybe more often than I should?
But all in all my time spent in the writer's cafe was mostly good.
I improved a whole lot here, gained constructive criticism - more often than not.
I'm really hating this departure but it's for the best, though I'll miss you sorry lot.
Like the lines: 5,4,3,2,1 my poem ends, as I've sung the last line to the song of the end.
Wow, this is a really strong piece. I'm really sad to see you go, but if you think that's for the best, you probably should. Know that you will be missed, my friend :) Feel free to keep in touch, if you want to, or let me know if you decide to move to another site instead.
Good luck with the rest of your writing journey, I wish you all the best :)
