Underrated & Overlooked

Underrated & Overlooked

A Poem by Andre Waters II

Hold on. You telling me I'm something else.
Something, I'm not, like I did it for my health.
You belittled me, after all the chivalry.
I guess it's my fault for taking this literally.
I hope you know
That the distance will grow
Cause this wasn't a show
But since I believe we've reached a point
Where things aren't the way it should,
I have to put my faith back where it stood.
Don't take this the wrong way
But you put my in harms way
Underrated my kindness for a joke
Overlooked most likely cause that's part of the hoax and it's been going on for years,
I'm not the brightest, but this, I see clear
The endeavor with you is out of fear.
I'm better off this way
Venturing the world on my own
Live to see another day
Cause my name's not yet written in stone
I'm sorry you feel some type of way,
but I wouldn't think the feeling is mutual.
Although I know your words were truthful,
At least at years end, but this year's a new,
But I'm sure you won't mind the one true gift that never made it to you.

It's a struggle, you'll all live this soon enough.
Cause even in the smoothest of roads, it always gets rough.

I could definitely hear & feel the way this would sound, with nice rhythm & rhyme all along. The meaning is very relatable, as so often we run across people who don't take our friendship/affection seriously . . . this is an artful way to say: ENOUGH! Nice blend of serious sentiments with flippant riffing! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I've used warning signs, focal points and makeshift gauges. I've moved further than I ever thought I could, but I'm still missing a lot more than I thought I would. That doesn't stop me from moving cl.. more..
