Days Without You

Days Without You

A Poem by Andre Waters II

I want you to know that is driving me crazy
I've grown lazy
I gotta get my head right
Looking for you like I'm lost in the mall
But all I see now is the resemblance
And though I see the great genes
It doesn't peak my interest.
These days are getting shorter
And I need an extra minute.

Let me show how I'm feeling the right way
The kind of vibe I'm feeling, you should feel someday
This is overdue.
I know you feel it
It's feeling like just me and you.
I put the brakes on cause I had to settle my mind
Take some time from the attraction.
I had emergencies that required my service
It wasn't you, I fell back from.
And when I returned, I thought it was too late to come back from.
And that's the troubled mind, I carried until I met you.
Now it follows me on these days without you
So I must be doing something right
But at the same, something wrong
I spend another night, drifting away to these songs
In you're absence and it does me no good.
I hope our paths cross again
So I can explain anything that you misunderstood
And no I'm not upset, taking anything out on you
But I gotta be clear, in case you didn't see it how I do
But I think you already know
This one is for you, the next one too
And I'm starting to think
You're looking forward to them.

About
I've used warning signs, focal points and makeshift gauges. I've moved further than I ever thought I could, but I'm still missing a lot more than I thought I would. That doesn't stop me from moving cl.. more..
