Seeing Red

Seeing Red

A Poem by Andre Waters II

"
What have I awaken in
Pool of red wine
Pool of blood
The liquid dripping down my face
Respirator holds my breathing up
Do i know where I am?
Fallen back as my eyes shut
Down a stream it seems
This pool turns to a river
Where is it taking me?
To a place yet to be seen?
Shadows under the light
Outside I am taken
To a sky full of night
Stars full of white
Moon full in its presence
All of which draws me strength within seconds
To the ground I escaped
This pool I'm seeing red
Traveling sacred ground
From the stream, a trail is led
To where I am, to where I've gone
Till the liquid dries off
I'm nowhere to be found
With no type of cloth.
So I make my rounds til i find water
Mirror myself
My eyes bloodshot
The liquid has tainted me
My eye color changed
My calling card rearranged
Maybe I've fallen into a pool of bloodshed
I've come out a new
My eyes seeing red.

I've used warning signs, focal points and makeshift gauges. I've moved further than I ever thought I could, but I'm still missing a lot more than I thought I would. That doesn't stop me from moving cl.. more..
