A Weathered Storm

A Weathered Storm

A Poem by Andre Waters II
"

When I actually thought, taking a run through a storm, lightning never came...but it cleared my head.

"
Took me a good minute to get my mind together.
lost in a forest in the mist of bad weather.
I'm more welcomed to the cold, and the rain doesn't bother me.
Perhaps I found where I thought I'd be, where I outta be, I'm trapped inside my mind, like it follows me.
Oh how it feels, the anxiety.
I start to think I rather have a bolt of lightning stiking me
Cause if I'm out cold, this anxiety will tumble down the road, maybe wake up and forget it all happened.
Damn, I never thought I'd see how anxiety makes me think I'd be happy.

This is an unusual journey thru the forest of anxiety, despite bad weather! But somehow it all works together (for anyone who's experienced anxiety especially!) Your analogies are fresh & original, your description of many different mind & mood disorders is alarmingly true-to-life!
