Some Bonds

'Truth'

Some bonds are so deep
Nothing can break them off
They survive hate and anger
They survive distance for centuries
Selfishness strengthens them
Infidelity too seals them
It's endurance that redeems them
They know they must abide
All for the sake of the kids!

It so sad when that is the only thing that keeps exes in touch....for the sake of the kids.
And worse if folks only stay together for that sake.
Happiness takes work...and sometimes all the work in the world isn't enough.
And really is it good for the kids to be raised in an uhappy environment, for their sake?

it describes a very complex and dynamic relationship. a couple that understands the other is not perfect but remains by their side because there is something bigger connecting them. it is not quite a happy poem, but i admire the strength of the personae. in such a short work, you crafted a very thought-provoking meditation on relationships.
