Hold On

Hold On

A Poem by Andy Ruffett
"

We all need a helping hand to get us through the pain of the day.

"

How can you hold on when you’re falling apart?

How can you tell people you’re fine,

when you’re not?

When life gives you lemons,

supply the world with limes

When you’re down,

find that shoulder to lean on

When you feel there’s no way you can go on,

remember the tune of your favourite song

Hold it close and never let it go

because we both know that after tragedy

comes hope

This touched my heart. I lost my daughter, Christina May Shanaberg, a writer on the WritersCafe last June. She was an accomplised writer and musician. I am trying to Hold On with special memories of her, listenening to her music and reading her poems. Thank you for this poem, Andy. This will go into my library.
