Hearing Philosophy

Hearing Philosophy

A Poem by Andy Ruffett
"

What sounds we can hear in class if we listen.

"

As the fan goes on,

the professor keeps

talking while the clicking

of the keys are heard

in the back

There’s the clicking

of a drawer

and pages are turned

while another shuffles

in his seat

The click of a pen,

and a sigh

And as the marker writes,

the book scrapes against

the wood

Someone opens up

food and the crinkling

is heard within space

I'm surprised no one reviewed this wonderful gem...lovely, reminds me of some college classes I had, that was in bungalow during summer sessions...Ironically, enough, philosophy was my major until I changed it.

I Loved the flow , how it brought me into your world with all the vivid imagery. Wonderful.

Ironically I wrote it in my philosophy class at the time.
