Simple Shoes

Simple Shoes

A Poem by Andy Ruffett
"

There's a girl who wears quite clunky shoes in my poetry class. OBVIOUSLY, I'd write a poem about it.

"

Girl with the clunky shoes,

you may not know that I’m staring

It’s strange

as everything else matches her shape,

except those shoes

Though the shoes is what completes

her being her

and not me

Sweatpants and a sweatshirt,

the casual outer look

Doesn’t seem to care

why they stare

She is no different

from the rest

So girl with your shoes,

I know it’s you

when you walk into the room

i'd be flattered if someone wrote a poem about me. reminds me of abby on ncis; she's a goth girl who wears big clunky shoes. how do you know where the floor ends and your feet start? interesting piece.

She was a bit odd.
