The Day I Didn't Speak

The Day I Didn't Speak

A Poem by Andy Ruffett
"

I'm the guy who seems to be one of the few people that speaks in my poetry class. One day, I decided to sit in silence and let others reply.

"

The day I didn’t speak was a day of decisive peace

I never raised my hand, just listened instead

Though silence was beckoning,

I couldn’t comply

So I sat in the back

and gave others a try

The frustration was clear

when no one spoke out

But I hung back instead of calling out

That answer man was on holiday

He needed a break

And the best approach of course was to

“Let them speak!”
