Mr. EiffelA Poem by Andy RuffettEveryone needs to go up to the top of this magnificent structure. The Eiffel
Tower, how it stands Far and grand
upon this land Towering upwards
towards the sky And people
shudder and sigh Going up is no
easy feat Elevator or
stairs, move your feet Climb up to the
top in old class and style Or take the box
that propels you through miles Crowded like
herd of sheep gated away Touching so many
bodies, but at least you can say You made it to
the top and it wasn’t so hard As the lift
brought you up and down with the guard But climbing up
is oh so much fun The farther you
climb, you see how it begun How Eiffel came
up with such a magnificent plan One that now
everyone still highly commends It needs to be
seen by everyone in this world A strapping
young lad or a beautiful girl Doesn’t matter
if you’re fat, scrawny, or thin Once you’ve gone
up, you can say that you’ve been To the top of
the tower and have seen all the sights While the ones
on the ground gasp and shriek in delight You smile and
grin knowing now that it’s true: You made it to
the top, Not them, You © 2011 Andy Ruffett |
