Warm Coldness

Warm Coldness

A Poem by Andy Ruffett
"

The cold needs the warmth and the warmth needs the cold.

"

When the warmth of a day

Can be so well portrayed,

Why can the feeling be taken away?

What causes the sun to implode into dust

And bring the night sky to appear?

With its moon and its stars,

And with space out so far,

Still lets the sun shine in the clear.

Why is the moon so rough and cold,

While the sun is so warm but old?

Day passes through night

And night passes through day,

And the light of the moon

Takes the sun’s warmth away.

But now my child listen here,

The sun needs the moon

And the moon needs the sun.

Without them we would have

Night and no day,

And no sun and moon

To brighten it along.
