A Spring Walk

A Spring Walk

A Poem by Andy Ruffett
"

I always love walking, especially in the spring, so I wrote a poem about my walking experience one spring day.

"

As I walked across the road on a spring morning day

I heard a couple of birds chirping my way

Singing songs oh so deep, with melodies oh so sweet

Watching the sun brighten its way through the clouds

And the soft chilly air, wrapping itself around

Reminded me of days so pure and so gay

Until the rush of traffic drove it all away

I love to go to first writes on WritersCafe, because you find gems like this. I wish that I had lived in the times that my great grandfather, James, talked about. When you could hitch up your horse in the morning, driving your goods to the farmer's market, and stop along the way and listen to life.

That would have been something.
