Marionette

Marionette

A Poem by AndBeForgotten

You're a poltergeist fashionably relevant.

a dress wrinkled from carelessness

and stained with disbelief.

You're a doll so stuffed with petals of "she loves me not",

they burst out with little regard.

Scarlet ribbons tie your subsequent regrets.

They're tattered and frayed from mistakes you've made.

Ring out the iodine from your antiseptic eyes,

leave gray puddles on the floor for me to despise.

Silence becomes eternal in your wordless speaking

(tribulations to my soul)

My heart's an insomniac.

A dancing light evading corners.

A summer without a winter.

Loving with out a cause.

The summer springs with emerald trees,

my light passing forward.

I waited too long,

to find unrequited passion

it leers a full toothed smile,

contempt for my being.

If virtuous unhappiness,

then not of here speak.

If not of willful disdain,

then of nothing.
