"Friday..."

"Friday..."

A Poem by Chris
"

"Echoing Thunders..."

"

"Friday..."

A storm came spiraling

and thundering through...
the power "blinked" here
mind-to-black,

mind-to-black...
mind-to-empty
- for a fair bit.

I saw you wander in -
though not the focus...

probably some catch-up

maybe some day- or almost - eve

-dreaming...

I listened to the rain
- empty drumming
flowing
- in waves and waves
roiling, swirling
filling everything - except
me
...as I sat - listening
listening

- to the rain falling

...inside.

I love this, this is so solide, and flowing the same time, as rain can on the windowpane.... wonderfully brought, with a keen ear ;)

I love the rain. Here in California it seldom pours...but on days when it does, I sit and write, usually about poems with rain in them! The mere mention of it in the context of a poem is such a comfort to me...

Thanks for the warmth, and the smile!

ooooo.... I loved the thought of the rain falling inside.... I'm going to have to read it again, but that struck out at me.

Very good... and very interesting as seems to be the norm.
Why do I get the feeling "Friday..." and the "storm" is only a reference?
Nature inside and out... perhaps the same?
Again, thanks for the privilege and making me think.

Rain falling inside...sounds like how I feel, except mine is a hard rain. I like the way this begins outside the speaker and ends inside him.
