"But.... You Never Spoke......"

A Poem by Chris
"

"

I read Natty's and it really struck me that - well, so many blame others for not reaching out. In actuality, it seems to me most things do take two - so either one can start... it IS allowed - ya know?

If you start small you may find your dreams aren't always so far away and hell, it ain't really about drop-dead-beautiful or being a hunk... its about being who you are AS you are and not who you aren't.

"But....

You never spoke......"

So much silence exists

- filled with unspoken words -
in our world.

Its all the silence between

- loves that can't BE

- friends that never-were
- minds lost and left lingering in their shadows

- all the eyes filled with wishes...

Its all the silence between
- tears in our darkest places
- unreasoned fear of our differences
- the lil smiles unseen, unnoticed
- the empty fingertips that didn't touch...

Its all the silence between
each of us
as from our windows we gaze
out upon each other's world - alone,
watching and awaiting for the voice
- the one we didn't hear -
because
WE didn't speak

...either.

there's so much noise in this world. so many words floating around. mostly useless ones filling up the spaces where meaning should be. the ones who speak most generally have the least to say. wouldn't it be nice if the airspace was filled with the meaningful things that are kept silent so often?
thought provoking piece. i'm off to read natty's now.

I dream of fingertips that didn't touch... and never will.... knowing that in the heart of two, those fingers really did...

As always, your thoughts move ...and give birth to other thoughts...

Yes, we do need to speak to each other. Thank you, Chris, you have such an unusual writing style. Very easy reading.

There is such beauty here, lighting meaning and allowing understanding to bloom, lending a step back from everything that pulls us under. When we feel threatened by everything that is being said sometimes we forget to look at everything that is kept hidden and silent, because we are frightened, too scared to look past everything that we are told. We want to fight back against what we dislike, but we don't have the strength so we keep silent until everything drifts away and we say less than we mean and our depth is held in the silences between. Love it, really pulls at the mind.

I am taking this to heart .. And lighting a fire beneath my feet .. so I can take steps out of this silent standoff .. and speak the Love that was always there ..

Thank You .. .. J.

Just a little poem I wrote some time back ....

Come on in and love a spell

I was just getting - alone -

Help me put away these fears

And I'll open up some maybe thoughts

And set a place for .. two ..

Come on in and love a spell

I was just getting - alone -

J.
