"Dragons Are Forever..."

"Dragons Are Forever..."

A Poem by Chris
"

Think what you feel...

"

Dragons are in the heart and soul.  Don't let the 'mind' take the magyk away from life - you'll too soon have 'nothings' left.

"Dragons Are Forever..."

Children grow
and "Become" -
what they come to believe
what they allow others to FORCE them
into believing.

Life IS - Pragmatic, real,
pheromones,
chemicals and imbalances.
Its sex and cadence
and regimented
- time to wisely everything,

waste nothing on non-profit.
POWER is the key
tell and telling
order- rows, grids,
squares... permanence -
ashes and finally dust.
All our LIVES become dust.
Our things - become dust.

Nature has no straight lines.

We are the ages ~
An age of 'have-nots'.
Fun is a heartbeat, then a work week,
then a month, then years apart as lost in life
we lose the sparks that nature gave us.

They - and then we - take away the magyk
and we understand and agree
as we work hard and run and run
in circles of straight lines -
all to forget what we knew inside.

And everything dulls and dulls,
the years doing as you must
lead where?
The eyes see the trees - bushes -
gnarled, bent, old and in the way...
forests - even we - all in the way.
The noise is just the sound within -
trapped by ears going, going, gone - deaf.
The heart FEELS the cold
but ice has no beauty.
Clouds are shadows and annoyances -
Rain is just ...wet, avoided,

miserable, cold and sodden.
Snow is ice-melt steps and walkways
and plastic shovels - aching legs, arms, and backs.
You have time to LOOK
but nothing any longer to see...
not even that the hand you hold
is just your own
.

Dragons are forever
and the faerie folk dance
and magyk LIVES!
Stars and starlight
moonlight... the FEEL of the rain,
and snowmen... and sunrises... sunsets...
the gentle curve of fingertips
finding a cheek... lips...
even sparkling eyes gazing into
forevermores...
Dragons ARE forever.

"They - and then we - take away the magyk
and we understand and agree"

The most scary thing is that at some age we deny magic. Turn off all possible colors and leave all black and white with place for shadows.

"Dragons are forever
and the faerie folk dance
and magyk LIVES!"

Just saying this brings a smile to the face and not the wind in the hair, but a touch of fairy wings.

Did to me too...
Beautiful and intriguing, the imagery paints a descriptive picture while the metaphor drives home an important message which I interpreted as meaning that one should always hold dear that fantastical part of the mind that believes in the unbelievable, thereby kindling the spark in all of us that allows us to enjoy life for the mystery it is. It was a pleasure to read.

Reality looms large, but seeing the fantasy in life is all important. We all need to believe in dragons and fairies sometimes, don't we? Indeed, the magic lives. An enchanting write. Lydi**

I'm glad you came by... good hearing you Lydi.
Chris,

Once again I am here to read from curiosity of comments attached to a poem posted by a fellow poet, and once again, I find myself not even the least bit disappointed by that which I read, penned by your hand from the creativity gifted to you, as though it were also magyk - that which lives within you and within the hearts and spirits of many.

As children we hear of dragons and the fairy and the princess who is perhaps captured and rescued. We read of the dragon in religious readings as Michael The Archangel battled the dragon, and so many cultures are enriched and fed for eternal days because of belief in the power of the dragon.

Yes, life is pragmatic. Nature is perhaps less defined but yet is a part of life - perhaps life itself in its more simple form. We allow the dull of life to encompass us (well, perhaps not the writer as we are ever creative and spilling forth that creative energy if others take the time to notice), and we discard the memory of yesterday's dreams and visions, and that which we know is real. Is it only real in the minds of the young? A topic worthy of debate........ Are dragons really real?......again a topic worthy of debate. I think in the end it is up to the child who is now a adult who embraces once again after the reality of life wears off and settles deeper in, to believe in the magyk or discard it as childish nonsense.

It is clear how you feel. It is also clear how Poppy Ruth feels. I settle somewhere in the middle as I have gifts that have been carried through my bloodlines - do I accept them, or reject them? The church vehemently tells me to reject them, and so I have. But, then what do I do with the wisdom, the intuition/feelings/fore tellings that I still have though I reject them?

Is all so interesting! You give much for us to think of - pragmatic or not! I am in the stage of presenting two sides of Halloween which speak of the demons and those that reject them.....perhaps a bit like believing in dragons and magyk, or not?

Oh, I suppose I could write pages and pages about all of this! I have enjoyed your write!! And, I shall stop there!

The faerie danse for you too..I can tell.
it is so easy to get caught up in the day to day and forget to look for the magic.. and it is there if we just look..

So many things to comment on here: exquisite form, the content cuts to the core of experience and maturity showing your deep insight regarding our power to choose our beliefs - in the educated acknowledgement and defiant denunciation of logical thought and maxims of efficiency. We are not robots, we are dragon-imaginable... This could have so easily turned out the worst type of trite 'i believe, thus so', but you started passionately, proceeded cleverly, and ended emphatically. Great read & great treatment of the theme.

Sometimes we can not see the "Dragons" . .. All that harsh reality blocks our view .. Some see only Dragons and fairies .. Maybe they are the sane ones .. just maybe ..

Oh I love this! And I love dragons and dragon stories and magic.
What you wrote is soooo true, I want to see the magic forever. Others don't always appreciate us living in fairyland but I have to live where I am happy.

Extremely powerful, I can hardly take it! It's electric and all of it is true. I really liked your style of this piece, how you accentuated just the right things. Children are a product of their environment, and that environment teaches them to conform to society and cold, hard fact. It kills imaginations and then the world is dull. I particularly liked the line "The heart FEELS the cold
but ice has no beauty."
Great write!!
