"A Series Of Thoughts - Tomorrows..."

"A Series Of Thoughts - Tomorrows..."

A Poem by Chris
"

straight-up thoughts

"

Listening.  Breathing quietly.
Echoing - new, old, you, we... they,
us - I
have listened, I have
...listened too
and to the ...wind...

"Tomorrows..."

Where is tomorrow?
I don't know.
It WAS right there
just
right
there
and then it wasn't
- anywhere - any where at all.

We were promised tomorrows
everywhere and everywhen
every day and time and place -
in school ~
church ~
at what we do, did ~
where we are, were...

Across desks, kitchen and diningroom tables,
beds,
in tears - and with tears - and through
tears
and
- in every room -
under the sun and sky
in the darkness
even within the earth...

in our minds - day and night dreams and
even the mares...

promised
...tomorrows.

The price is steep, dear - and always met:
Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, Brothers,
family, friends, and all the others along the ways ~
all and everyone else for tomorrows.

And now its even our selves -
the altars await as we lay down,
as one-by-one
we ALL
PROMISE

...tomorrows...

...and we believe

and I...believe...

Very good exploration of thoughts. We have a funny way of defining our goals and the measure by which we reach them. Some measure success by monetary funds, some by the amount of t heir assets. Most of us go on living day by day in utter stupor without really knowing what we want till we get there. That is human nature and human nature makes us somewhat dissatisfied, making it imperative to improve. I believe it's the small things that make life precious. Like gold nuggets in the mud, beauty is often hidden beneath a cloak of unsightliness. It happened to me when I approached a dirty sunburned homeless man. I expected slurred speech and irrational thoughts. To my surprise, I found a soft-spoken and articulate intellectual. It happened to me when I pulled into the littered and unkempt parking lot of a dingy shack, displaying a faded crooked sign that read “Ant qu s”.
A real nugget of gold.

" Yesterday is but a dream, tomorrow but a vision. But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow | a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day. (Quote by - Sanskrit Proverb) "

Tomorrow is the today I lived through yesterday..."and nothing is but what is not", to quote Shakespeare. Very thought-provoking, Chris!

It's like we have to believe or else nothing matters.
This is the life we all live and desire...

Today's become our yesterdays and tomorrows come and go.
This was very thought provoking Chris.
I try not to think about my tomorrows so much, I focus on the todays.
For when my tomorrow gets here it will be my today. haha
Take it one day at a time.
This was awesome Chris, always love reading your thoughts.

It's not what you believe, it THAT you believe. These thought are attempting to run, race with the present, like chasing the moon, it's a heady race. Inclusive, exclusive.... somewhere in between there's everything, everyone... you have to listen, you SHOULD listen, catch and hold your breath, slowing that passage of present into past... your thoughts, quite contagious.
