"Kittens And Puppies..."

I was speaking with - not to or at, with - another poet this morning about how we 'see' poetry and words.  And yes there were diferences BUT there were also consistencies and understandings.  We spoke of imagery and its use, need, and place.  And at the end of my side of the conversation this one breathed into existence.

Its not an example of ANYTHING... its just a thought that needed being heard.

"Kittens And Puppies..."

A kiss is so simple...
such a lil -

insignificant
nothing
that held me so rooted to the spot
as she turned and ran
back
to her friends.

I couldn't say
...anything at all...
