"Perfect Is 'Boring'..." Poem

A Poem by Chris

This was mentioned so off the wall that I wanted to pause and 'taste' it.  What does it say for us and our perceptions?  How 'jaded' we have to feel, how cheated somehow - to lose all the wonder behind-our-eyes.  And yet I soooooo understand the intent... Damn.

"Perfect Is 'Boring'..."

Rainbows end-to-end
Fools spitting into the wind
The sharp CRAACCK of that first Bite
of a cold, crisp apple... and Eve's delight...
Perfect is 'boring'.

The touch of a cheek in morning's light,
Looking into eyes that even god can't forget.
lips softer than innocent dreams...
Perfect is 'boring'.

When you KNOW  it was just right THERE!!

You touched the face of God,
and felt your own tears...
Perfect is 'boring'.

I'm so broken even children cry
and the wind's echoes just whisper within
and tomorrows always come... again...
"Perfect..."

Perfect is boring. I have always felt that way. There is beauty in decay and beauty in flecks and faults and wonder in all those things put together. But this poem makes a reader ponder what perfect means. Maybe the mistakes are in ways perfection and all the faults of the world are in ways perfection.
Nice work.

Catching up on some past thoughts? I'thank you for that... it's good to have you here Erin.
Under rated word isn't it? There is hope in this...there is insight....perfection is perspective...I have read this three times in a row and each time found little pieces to sow in my thoughts...xx

Poppy, valid insights for today as well as yesterday...
even Mary Poppins was only "practically" perfect.. but sometimes one can get caught up in the trying..

I agree with this poem too. No one can be perfect. Though people try to go for it.. but really its better to be ourselves and just go on with life that way. =) I love how you had descriptions of our senses in this poem. I enjoyed this one as well!

I agree with this poem. Not only is Perfect boring, but if it was attainable, there'd be no point in going for it--all room for improvement in life would be gone, and then what's the point?

You keep us perfectly....guessing.
(sigh)...how I love to guess.

the only way I can enjoy(if you must call it that)a rhyming poem..is by thinking it is unique..but to be trapped and bound to rhyme at the end of sentence ..makes Me wonder if the full out meaning is transmitted..and left to flow on the readers mind...ALSO THE POEM WHERE THE MEANING IS NOT LEFT TO CHANCE AND THE IDEAL IS REPEATED AT THE LAST OF EACH STANZA....when one accomplishes that ..I more than enjoy ...PERFECTION IN POEM ...ps.. I enjoyed Poppys addition...in the dance one...
