"Shards Of Me..." Poem

A Poem by Chris
"

Even no answers are answers...

"

We don't fool ourselves... we really know - reality... it may SEEM we delude ourselves but that isn't it - in the least.  Even fools dream and clowns cry.  Tomorrow is the next breath - and it only lasts til the breath ceases... and it NEVER ceases for us in OUR minds - always just another... always just another...

"Shards Of Me..."

Chilly morning...
coffee... watching the world rise...
the life set... so many echoes floating by.

The rainbows don't fade.
I hear each one -
soft, clear, unique and
real... always real -
and they just don't understand
how real life is
and how eyes fade to black
even while hands - so very softly hold
and hold and hold
til they hold nothing anymore.
can't feel ANYTHING... evermore.

Dreamcatchers each and all - around -
and through and in
- the music isn't muzak... its just of children.
Generations and generations - each of us
come and awaiting gone.  Going, going - grown
and one and the next and the next..
Each grown to fading into
who they are.  Each and every tomorrow
is another face, another place,
another 's footstep taken in their dark.
Shared... b
reathing life... and heart -
and its what we dream and damn
the silences - close and crowd hard.

I wish I felt the sand
flowing free
whispering within the hourglass of me...
but I can't
too many wishes
too many dreams...
too many no answers
that I knew all along.
Too, too many cared for and heard...
Too, too many whose falling stars
falling and falling down
the inside of my eyelids
became me - marked me...
damned me
to stand on the edge
of each breath.

I felt this words very deeply . . . somewhere in my soul I know I've met the thought before, forgive me that last line is borrowed, from Dickinson I would imagine

I really enjoyed reading this poem. It is very philosophical in its depth about how life sometimes slips away without noticing before its too late. Very well composed.
