"Mid-winter's Sunshine..."

A comment's pause

I paused with Emily B. “Taking A Walk”

https://www.writerscafe.org/writing/Emily-B/2866393/#comments

and she drew me in.  It is definitely worth pause and remembrance.  The mind finds its way to where it WANTS to be - who’ld a thunk?

“Mid-winter’s Sunshine…”

Memories of "other" days crowd close.

Walks ... voices ... daydreams forming unbidden.

Then the wishes, and the mind's glowing,

hours becoming moments -

becoming - moonlight's breath...

And tomorrows meander by,

the sound of rain within -

as people pause, reach, touch -

are you asleep as your eyes remain open

and lost in the darkness?

Do you feel your soul lift then wandering

the paths you already know by heart?

Can you nightly wander?

How far?

Do you daily wonder?

Are the thunderous columns of roiling ether

hearth and home? - or an allusion of illusion?

What do YOU hear - feel - know?

What was “NOW”!

Do you soar, float, fall in joy or fear?

Is LIFE the dream and being AWAKE

is your present?

I hear heartbleats…

Can you hear your own?

I do hope you also paused with Emily B..

And thanks for pausing here.
That was like a punch to the gut. Shaking you all up as if saying, Wake up!.

Powerful write, Chris!

AWESOME wording here in this stanza, I do all three but not sure why though.
I would soar if I had wings to do so. Sometimes there is joy and fear
and let's not forget pain. This is really good. Enjoyed this
