"Memories of a Shared Seawall..."

"Memories of a Shared Seawall..."

A Poem by Chris
"

Just another's day dreaming of a when ...that... was.

"

Just another's day dreaming of a when ...that... was.

"Memories of a Shared Seawall..."

Have you walked a glacier's skyline?

Saw the mysts and fog meander by

as the sun peeked in and all the colors grew

in majestic hues...

and the SOUNDs pealed and echoed strong and near

thunderous touching, reverberating - clear

wandering across your skin and soul

embracing your being 'til melding within

and it paused you tight, TIGHT

...and the tears...came,

burned ...as they leaked from within

'cause no one knew this - this wonder...

had tasted...this moment, but you..

but... you.

And now in the swooshing silence

the waves walk and walk ashore.

And fill the mourning eve

with their white noise …evermore.

Although you eloquently describe that glacier and seawall this poem took me to a place of memories my own. Thus bringing forth emotions held only therein. And can we ask anymore as poets? To summon inner thoughts and feelings in those who peruse our works? Surely a highest honor. Second only to that feeling of honor when stumbling, we come across a poem that evokes those emotions in us, as I have done here. Thank you

You "get it"... and I appreciate your pausing.
If we sit t0o long on that seawall, we may become as cold as it is. Memories are gems that make us warm and let us cry. They are not so gentle reminders of when we shimmered as we meandered along the paths that are called life. Some are more intense than others. Some arrive completely unbeckoned, while others cross our hearts, are remembered and then retired, much as we would caress the cover of a favorite book.
Lovely
