"Memorial Day..."A Poem by ChrisWritten this morning in the sun.“Memorial
Day…” A
day of futures’ passed - my
mind focused on yesterwhens …walls
revisited D.C. Wall Camp Geiger front, the Memorials. Cemeteries
and memories … and memories … worldwide. A
time for toasting “Missing Friends” and recognizing sacrifice. …old
one’s ramblings and musings and sometimes …amusings. …young
ones lost in parades and stardust’s glow. Some
remember - some live to forget, and some …NEVER knew… Freedoms
are N E V E R free. We
and our hopes exist in a “have-not” world. Our
hallowed halls were earned and individual rights cost … blood. The
Glory in Death is A L W A Y S afterward In
another’s dreams of neverwere. None
but the tears live on… Semper
Fi to those that know Laters
to those that don’t. Chris © 2021 ChrisAuthor's Note
