"You Bring Soft Dreams..."

"You Bring Soft Dreams..."

A Poem by Chris
"

a thought-full presence...

"

Words can say what IS behind one’s eyes -

If we let them…

If we dare…

If we CAN …dare…

“You Bring Soft Dreams…”

You bring soft dreams…

…you do… ya know.

“He said, she said.

He said, they did -

something sillysweet,

cute, thoughtless, timeless,

real, shared… moments

caught in wishes made…

wishes caught in a moment’s

…dream.”

Little nothings,

so many never-weres.

Ne’er-to-be’s -

and yet this once

…this once, they were

so …so… meant to be.

The kind where normal words

feel full of thought

and looks have meanings

behind the eyes.

The kind where heartbleats echo

- HARD -

and just breathing…

has a meaning all its own -

when you CAN …breathe… again.

“…Where fingers’ tips softly brush

through hair that lightly flows…

…Where eyes gaze lost

into and within,

‘til lips so softly call

and touch…”

…as the dreams begin again.

You bring soft dreams,

you do…

I KNOW.

This is the best that I've ever seen "little nothings" exemplified. Normally I'm not into the "little nothings" part of human relationship (I go for the big splash), but your poem is a rare vivid glimpse into how it might feel without this message tipping over into kitschy or corny. Your halting wordplay makes those "little nothings" truly seem as precious as they really do feel when they happen like magic between two people. You've done a great job of SHOW-instead-of-tell on this (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I was there once, way back in 1981, July 4th ... dare I remember ...
So real. Thoroughly.

You have been reminiscing.
Lovely thoughts
Time is so fleeting, do we ever appreciate the real moment. Or are we always rushing headlong to meet the next, that we miss so many entirely

Yayy this is a wonderful poem where you in fab stylish way as onlooker or participant describe a romantic relationship, the ending stanzas were ESP awesome and charming, yet the entire poem uniquely touching on the feelings, the sweet nothings and all. Kudos again!

the eyes say it all, awesome write

I think the eyes tell so much...love, lust, want, need, comfort, joy, sorrow, no matter the words...
but right now all we have are our words to tell what the eyes might be saying if they could get close enough.
