"Afterglow..."

I paused at Sharon Lee's "Fire Fire! (A Photoblog)" and wrote this after just one reading (and I always do three - til then) while lost in her pics of the flames.  She has extraordinary writing skill and vision  and yet so few seem to find and pause with her work ...I don't understand why that is.

Sometimes you touch the flames as they touch ...you.

“Afterglow…”

 

Come and dream

beside the flames

and feel the heat

shimmering …soft…

 

Come and dream

…share the night

as echoes fill

'tween all the stars.

 

Pause and breathe

and listen - close

…as crackling whispers

touch and float.

 

Feel the heartbeats

deep within

as fingers lightly

move again.

 

"Come and dream,

and share the night

as the sky flickers

by fire's light…

 

…come and dream."
