"Poetry ...Today? Right..."

"Poetry ...Today? Right..."

A Poem by Chris
"

A Friday Thought

"

“Poetry …Today?  Right…”

Do you realize…

I close my eyes

and see

…you -

in moon’s glow,

day’s light,

shadow’s flow,

eve’s deep silence.

Midnaught’s  grasp

and Faerie Danse…

Framed in your window

eyes gazing on and on

out and out…

into places only the angels go

and minds barely dare.

Do you …understand -

That?

We share breath

presence

existence

in ways that make no sense

and yet

yet… are ALL that make

some true sense

of the emotions

and heart and strength

and wishes and dreams

shared with each scrawl -

each touch of pen’s tip

each fingertip’s press

of thoughts to …view

to …eyes glowing soft

with the dreams now within.

There IS poetry

in each breath - given,

voices raised -

whispers shared…

each kiss awaiting the touch of lips

each hand softly closing upon another’s.

The fist clenched tight…

fingers - shaking… in the night.

There IS poetry

in the starlight’s diamond glisten

the darknesses’ clasping tight

the tears’ continued flow

…the almost smiles

…the broken eyes

- each …only world… some know.

There IS poetry

in the thunders

and the lightnings’ jagged show

the taste of seasons comings

the ends of things …known.

There IS life

within - that beats and grows

and sings with tones

that float and sway

and tease and play

and draw …what we are

to reach beyond - all we have

- to what we only wish might exist

and yet…

and yet hope is all the stronger

for our voice of want and wonder

to intone …in tones

that weave the magyks

amongst the sparkles that live and flow within.

Bring it

Taste it

Feel it

Live it...

Its who YOU are

REAL

and now

Give your self - for in the end -

What else HAVE you got

That’s truly yours to give?

Poetry …right… today.

There is Poetry in that last breath set free
That rose to meet the wings of birds
And mingled with the Springtime breeze
There is Poetry...

Eyes glowing soft in the exquisite warmth and wisdom of this... and soul aches a little with the things it knows.

*sigh* A true poet's poem that makes me smile, and daydream...

So I swiveled the perspective of my journey to take in the intention of your words today. Riding the circle to keep the beast from dragging me off across the landscape of thought. Perception required me to slow the steed and dismount.
"Today?"
Ha! If you only knew... Never.
"Yet", "What if?" echoes of possibilities.
Hiding these words, as they dangle from pinched fingertips of understanding, comfort and assurance allows me to cradle the thoughts close to the eye of seeking.
So... I paused.
Then one breath led to another and a flinching led to a stride. Now, momentum carries me to the horizon of the event. I am shocked by the liberty found in the gravity of you calling.
The liberty to give... and to be a poet.
Lovely place for a daydream Chris.
I have not mastered you gift of reviewing with profound brevity... Yet. Ha. :)

Ha.. I wake up confused .. and it goes downhill from there.... some days..:) Love you too !
what Dale said...and also one of my favorite lines from a melanie song..." i am not a poet, living is the poem"

we poets are poems living out our lives and leaving it on paper.

nicely done here, Chris.

Glad you paused with me Jacob...
There is poetry in the hearts of us all for it connects us with one another and mother nature.

Poetry is a voice for the voiceless.
Poetry is a voice for the powerless.
Poetry is a voice for the fighters.
Poetry is a voice for the lovers.
Poetry is a voice for anyone who bleeds red.
