"Morning..."

"Morning..."

A Poem by Chris

"Morning ..." mind if I intrude a little while?  I'm sitting here with my coffee letting my eyes wander cross the world.  Thought I would pause here with thoughts for a little while.  Hope you don't mind... if I write a bit ...here... as I speak - with - you.
You seemed to understand
perhaps too well,
that people
- even ourselves -
change with time.
Is it we that leave others behind
or they that walk away - from us
from what we knew
from what they know
- to just walk ...away?
Perhaps I read too much into thoughts.
Perhaps, I perceive too deeply in the words
discovered beneath every pen's nib.
Perhaps it's but, there was that "missing"
- of intimacy and sense of sharing - I taste.
How do you handle disappointments?  Living?
Day-by-hour-by-sunrise til you awaken and begin again?
And when little things - that really mean nothing - just feel ...missing.
...lacking...
How do you handle - anger
your own
others ~
seeing hurt, being hurt ...hurting ...even being sometimes?
I'm listening to a rough rain
inside
the coffee is stale and cold
...but it's mine.
Lots of thoughts
float the morning pauses
as I wander the world.
Chris
I'll think of a title in a bit... I just looked up and found I gave it one already

The best poetry is written by those who are curious enough to play with words

of course I would :)
The best poetry. Coffee and a conversation. Good thoughts in your words. I love my coffee. I lived in Texas and California. I liked the places with set-up chess boards, good coffee and people who want to talk. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I like how you express what it is to just sit and ponder. Your questions and thoughts in your poem are really well expressed and are so true to what we all think about all of the time. Well done..

Oh my... what a thought provoking write. I am in love with the questions it stirs up within... so brilliantly posed, this is one to read again and again.

It is a pleasure to wade through your stream of consciousness, Chris. I feel this is a bit of a rant about the poetry you read on WC. Sometimes the words are a bit trite and it makes me wonder if the poets can handle disappointment or anger at all. I don't think your "coffee" is stale or old. Being true to yourself when you write is very important. It's easy to spot the poetry of those who are not. I enjoyed this. Lydi**
