"Twas A Mirror..."

"Twas A Mirror..."

A Poem by Chris
"

Remember what it’s like to be walking along or just doing something or just sitting and looking off into nothing special …and you just - see – and for the first time know your dreams just became real…

"

Remember what it’s like to be walking along or just doing something or just sitting and looking off into nothing special …and you just - see - and for the first time know your dreams just became real…

“Twas A Mirror…”

Twas a mirror -

that caught my pause

...and then you moved.

You're thought-full

and yet see at a glance

but you smile from the inside

...it's in your eyes.

Do you walk the harbor ways -

looking to the ocean's horizon?

Pausing to see the world flowing by?

Do you dream - of beyond there

or perhaps find each sunrise is enough

til its set arrives

and restarts breathing til the morrow?

Do you hum the joy of being

as the world visits

and the hours continue to fly?

I wonder of your thoughts

as the eve wanders your mind

and the night's breath lingers

cross your cheeks.

Yes, was a mirror

paused me...

then you moved.

Chris

Ken, I'm glad you came by... hell-of-a-winter so far...
A soul mate who comes to be a part of us...And so like us that somewhere along the way we begin to believe they are us...till they move and break our illusion. I never felt this way for any of my loved ones but I imagine it must be a divine feeling. This will stay with me for a long time...

Never looked into eyes that reflected as a mirror ..
A doppelganger of thoughts and ways
an interesting idea
to see one's self ..but not

Not quite sure what your experience was
Perhaps a soul-mate .. or a creation of wishes and whims
My daughter has the same mannerisms as me
We walk and sound the same
Laugh and cry, and hide away as twins..

Who knows.. maybe separated at birth is a real thing ..lol ..
I wonder if the two of YOU/ME would be happy together

This is kinda far out Chris .. and a little abstract in thought
I would be interested in knowing who it was
that sparked such thoughts behind your eyes...

Yes.. I am still unwell .. and blathering on ... sorry ..

Smile ....... Jazzxx

A revisit because this one has lingered...I can imagine a wise and kind reflection gazing back at this Poet...their own reflection cast and also existing to wander the world. What does our reflection...soul...see, feel or even think? If we are perception then so must our reflection be. Does that perception shape us or the other way around. Clever piece of writing...this shall stay with me for a while xx

Refreshing perspective, Chris. Your poems always have a hint of introspection as well as thoughtful pauses regarding inward and outward views. Hmm - almost always with a silver lining of beauty around each line. Loved this one, too.

There is a light...that never weakens, or goes out, it is here xx

as the eve wanders my mind
thoughts drift near & far... til I find
the so-soft beauty of moments remembered
and within that tenderness... time is suspended
in echoes of the every day

Aha ... read you after a long time!!! Questioning an individual to look beyond naked or revealing a clear state of mind! It happens and we more often do the same ... we all are mirrors!

This is your reflection saying something profoud...or vice versa. Whatever works I think.

I must admit, I can't easily grasp the thought of this incredible piece. I have only a picture in my mind of that person looking at something unchanging...a beautiful thing...that later on he found out to be moving and I assume that perhaps for some moments it revealed that it was not what he thought like.
Something below has caught my attention-
"Just because you find them doesn't mean they're yours..."

That statement made me ponder, and I made a realization about some issues. Maybe one became too much...gone beyond the limitations...became possessive....so it's really wrong. "Just because he/she find them doesn't mean they're his/hers..."

Thank you for this relevant piece, Chris.
