"Thoughtful Pause..."

"Thoughtful Pause..."

A Poem by Chris
"

sigh

"

“Thoughtful Pause…”

We shared the sunrise…

a world and life apart.

You - somewhere out …there

Me …well, I’m always… here.

…thoughtful pause…

I’m just a silly man

...a dreamer, rememberer,

wanderer… wonderer.

I've touched stars though

…damn      such stars!

And held hands as I could -

shared smiles,

tears,

breaths - caught  and taken.

We count moments

and memories

and the clocks’ ticks.

And the fading eyes,

wrinkling fingertips…

catching heart …beats

- to another rhythm

we sometimes can’t see

but only FEEL.

Only FEELonly

FEEL -

so lost as we close our eyes.

And the sense of what we were

overcomes the sense of now

- that we are.

…thoughtful pause…

you are so good...all kinds of lines to make me pause...it is like soulmates who just can't be together...

they are far apart but never stop feeling each other or feeling for each other...

but circumstances make them only think of "what ifs"--and we can only feel what is there right now...no matter what it is...feel it and remember that feeling...it might be all we have.

H'lo, nice of you to pause... hope you return.
"so lost as we close our eyes.

And the sense of what we were

overcomes the sense of now

- that we are."---this part is so intense that it could stand alone as its own. My favorite here.
Nice writing that is your title.

YEA!
It is and so much more--deeper in a sense.
I feel myself slipping into your poem with each pause and "FEEL-ing."

"I’m just a silly man
...a dreamer, rememberer,
wanderer… wonderer.
I've touched stars though
…damn such stars!"- Longing and distance and so much more... One of my favorite stanzas.

The thoughtful pause ... What we could achieve - as opposed to obtain - if only we had the wisdom to take a thoughtful pause. A joyful experience to read you as always, Chris.

I adore this! Thoughtful pauses - so important, and so much read into them. Looking back, dreaming forward - knowing what you have been, done, seen.

I am glad you came by and hope you will return.
You are Socrates. This is much better of explaining one's life than the insincere epitaph carved in stone. It captures a moment in time.

The way you write is quite inspiring. I enjoyed this poem for many reasons... the reinforcement, the pauses, the words used, the WAY they were used!

I LOVE THIS!

Again work of a genius I must say, your writing has something which take a person to different level of understanding about his existence and self being. My humble gratitude for sharing.

We each have our own style, that is what makes us unique.
a penetrating poem. deep across the distance.
However, much is felt even when the flesh cannot touch.
Sensual and soulful in the right places to pause

We should all pause and think for a while. There is so much in life to think about, appreciate, wonder... That is what I got from this poem. A common thought, presented in a new way. A thoughtful pause, by me, here, to appreciate this "Thoughtful Pause".
