"A Room Of Many Colours..."

"A Room Of Many Colours..."

A Poem by Chris
"

A look at our selves.

"

We have so many thoughts.  Thoughts that flow and stream through our consciousness.  Some are thoughts that we hold tightly lest they might escape our grasp and thence somehow lessen our lives.  Some are thoughts that ARE memories of thens and the wish-they-were nows that could have been.  Our minds have so many rooms, the doors to which are sometimes open, sometimes not - sometimes so locked that not even we can enter and touch the echoes held within.  Each room has its own shades of meanings, a mix and a swirl of colours often painted with hopebrushes.  Sometimes the base is tears and others it is the blood leaked from eyes so aware …so very aware.

“A Room Of Many Colours…”

A room of many colours

The taste of life -

its aerie enclosure

turned inward and

crystalline roses

glowing in the morning sun

misting coffee'd eyes.

Silent reflections

carry the warmth to shadows

pausing on the shore.

Sometimes …we need to dream

though not to replace thens with nows.

Sometimes that "smile" doesn't haunt,

sometimes it IS the special closeness

we feel leaking out to reality the only way

we know how to let it.

Yeah,

A room of many and sometimes -

hell, we just aren't always as innocent

as we believe ourselves to be...

nor as guilty as some might believe.

trippy; love the last verse especially ... over the years our mind paths can become well worn ... maybe good for us...maybe not ... wonderful thoughts put down uniquely ..

A trip through my cinema in the attic... The many colors of my little boxes. It is a bit crowded sometimes... Then sometimes you feel alone in a colliseum. Sometimes I fill a new box... sometimes I empty one. Sometimeas a cup of coffee is just a cup of coffee. As always my friend you captivate a reader with eloquence and emotion. Beautifully told. Thank you for giving us a glimpse.

The poem is one that makes a person think. Reading the reviews is proof of that. That too is beauty what you can pull out of people.

The first three stanzas of your poem presents your power of explicating the simple in artistic words. The reflections are mostly sanguine making us perceive our remembrance as a mighty trip to the past (considering we are not suffering from dementia or weak long term memory). It connotes our existence with pleasure until, as what the last stanzas represent with an amiable sense of humor, there are events and matters we ought to lock up inside of our minds to achieve deliberate forgetfulness. I really admire your work full of sweetness and concurrence to truth.

We each "see" things our own way - so why write like someone else? I AM glad you paused with me Ken.. read more
I enjoyed the aerie enclosure to illustrate your thoughts and memories, as though it is sometimes a blanket that separates you and your experiences from the rest of the world.

And then I'm seeing your own inner world, darkness that is visited, and perhaps made more bearable, by your warm recollections.

It was the "smile" that didn't haunt that encouraged me to reread the entire poem again and I'm glad I did.

The last paragraph made me wonder whose smiles you may have been reflecting on. I enjoyed it. Thank you, Chris.

Very nice work, This poem's based on life and you've picturized everything about it into the words very brilliantly. Keep on!

People COULD hear me if they want - in every piece I write - all they need to do is listen with thei.. read more
We really are the three people. An amalgamation changing by the moment because of experience. Its why I say it is the journey and there are no destinations. But then not everyone appreciates the personal change as you do Chris and then writes it so strongly and well.

I would love to see an artist's interpretation of your comment... would be a visual treat.
Some.. I'll never know..why
Some have forgotten every then
Some ran away to hell
Some never got out alive
I was never innocent
And maybe as guilty
as some believe ..

Not thinking to clearly .. just needed to say..

Thank you Chris... ♥.............
That last stanza really hits hard, what kills me is when a person is accused and tried for the very same crime as that the executioner was doing in the first place. That's America, that's you and me, that's everyone, we see the faults of others way more readily than we see our own, or maybe a good offense is the best defense, but either way it goes, love is a tyrant or the sweetest release, lover's do that. I do that, everyone does that, that's why we are humans and not Gods.
