feel free AFTER you think on it...
there is ALWAYS something within the lines when you think on them ya know? Still, it somehow doesn't feel like Pulitzer material though - chuckling here

Wondering .. just wondering, you understand.. if maybe the man's doing the batting of eye.lashes and playing the fool, wanting, needing, to be noticed. Anything for attention and, why not. Love, love, love the happy ending, whether man or beast or just hope. Smiling at the fun, sideways glance at the charm, and knowing there's a tale behind the words. Thanks for sharing, as ever.

You might be right... will await for other "voices" to speak up... chuckling here.
There should be a "Puzzler Prize" for Poetry, don't you think, Chris? I mean, come on, dogs and people... they both want that attention from the alphas. So, here I am again, over on my back, tail wagging and hoping there's more butt sniffing than ear biting. Of course I am still thinking about it but if I do that too long I'll get a headache and it's starting off to be such a nice morning - why would I want a headache (except perhaps for contrast). I'm not the target audience here. I'm gender neutered (intentional pun). But I still fetch sticks on command. I have training, don't cha know, huh? As for the overall impact of the piece, I'd say it opens to the themesong of the old TV serial, "Tombstone Territory." Goes something ilke this, "
Whistle me up a memory
Whistle me back where I want to be
Whistle a tune that will carry meTo Tombstone
Territory

All in all a frisky little thing! :)
-smiling- Very well done my friend! Multiplicity for a reader is a wonderful thing... Is it me chasing my own tale and heart or Achilles and Hector racing around the house while I'm gone? I love it... and they're too stingy with that Pulitzer thingy anyway.
I don't have a dog, but I've been around them enough to know you captured the moment of their excitement perfectly. Truly unique and special. Just like you. xo
