"Walking Along The Waves..."

"Walking Along The Waves..."

A Poem by Chris
"

You don't always win...

"

“She sells sea shells by…” Strange the lil meaningless ditties that weave within your mind as you stand lost in time - gazing out over your now.  Sand and waves - each marching, cascading endlessly atop the other and swirling, twirling over and around and finally erasing the marks your existence brought to where your “now” …is… was.  Sometimes you want to talk but… well, life doesn’t provide caring ears too often - that’s just how it is.  So you put yourself where the white noise lets you think and the thoughts fill you…

“Walking Along The Waves…”

I haven't ever seen you as a Fairy Princess,

nor all clothed in white light.

I've seen you as a real person -

wants and flaws...heart and angries.

Sometimes I wondered about your daydreams;

the directions they took...

sometimes I saw the woman looking at me

and sometimes a very little girl.

Somedays I had daydreams too -

“he said and she saids”...

and not silly at all thoughts.

Intent-full dreams of “nothing” moments -

things that wouldn’t end a world,

though I wished they could have created

one.

Somedays I breathed...

others I didn't remember how.

Life does that -

touches you behind your eyes

leaving you to deal as only you

can.

Sometimes you stand til the sun

rises

…right there…

watching life wash up like driftwood -

a lost world’s debris

of sundered moments

and ended futures.

…And somedays you just turn away

And walk and walk and walk…

This is the joy of scrolling through back pages; the gem unearthed. I have been both the woman and the little girl. Sundered moments, indeed, there have been many, but of ended futures, none thus far, only the living and the taking of what this life has to offer.

I simply adore this poem.

Beccy.

Fans are allowed... chuckling here.
I sit here reading this... Eyes blurring as I see and feel the "now" you've taken me to. Splendid painting my friend. I love the picture. Thank you so much for sharing.

I've never thought of life washing up like driftwood, rather, I have felt that like driftwood, drifting alone in an endless sea. I walk and sense the alone-ness of this piece, the solitary moments that make the mind wander.

yep...I know.
Wow I really like this Chris. I know everyone gets something different in a read, but I been there just in a different title. The world doesn't give ear sometimes to hear or yet sometimes even speak back for that matter. Makes a person feel some what alone in search of trying to grasp in there on quest to figure it all out. I use to get up some nights when the world was asleep and walk, It wasn't where I was going mattered. It seem more to find that answer, but no matter where I walked it all seem the same. I guess its better to set in a still of moment rather than walk yourself to death ha ha! Enjoyed the write Chris.

Your very welcome Chris.
I very much enjoyed this. "Sometimes you want to talk but… well, life doesn’t provide caring ears too often - that’s just how it is." That is so true. It's hard to really talk about the things that are most troubling...and to find someone who really listens.

One moment can end a future in a flash.

Those last lines make a near perfect ending. Sometimes that's all we can do, one foot in front of the other, keep walking.

So many people feel like that.. me too. But, few can write it like you.

Reeling from the thoughts and pictures you've raised in my mind, Deep emotions written from the heart; heres and theres, moments and hours, scenes and events. Tis as if long ago you shared a feast with a companion that and who has fed you ever since. There are phrases that echo, '.. Somedays I breathed ~ others I didn't remember how. ~ Life does that - touches you behind your eyes ~ leaving you to deal as only you can.. '
