"Beautiful Sounds..."

"Beautiful Sounds..."

A Poem by Chris
"

Listening

"

"Beautiful Sounds..."

I hear so many thoughts

and shape the tones into life -

so your eyes see me.

.          Sometimes breathing

.          takes more than we can give

.          at that one moment

.          and yet - somehow -

.          we did, do -

.          without memory or

.          even knowing how.

.                    "Braille..."

.                    Echoes and echoes,

.                    bright flashes of jagged hell -

.                    God it's beautiful!

The reflections in your eyes

hold me tighter

than your fingertips dancing nervously

across the keys' tops.

...and you don't know

- or DO you really        KNOW?

that I can see you that clearly

dearly

alone

sprawled

seeming lost in ...thought

- gazing through the window's 'glass'

into life's dreams

...yours, mine -

every one of us that risks

...the reaching

- to hope

- to touch another

- to be touched BY another - sometimes ANY other

- to remember how to dream ...again

even after working so damn hard to forget

that you ever DID dream at all.

.                    "Listen..."

.                    When I hold my breath

.                    silence is so loud it hurts -

.                    and then the words ...fall.

I can hear children playing.

Small excited voices

flowing through the day.

Even with my eyes closed,

I see them running -

back and forth,

dodging the touch

gigling, laughing

calling defiance!

I didn't want to grow up

- it hurts - watching

what you lose

- the breathing after

- the next hour, day, week.

.          Flowers sing so softly

.          as the air lifts them toward the sun

.          and their tones fill me

.          with the sense of light.

Do you hear the sunsets?

The whisper as the breeze

stirs your hair.

The leaves rustle and sway

overhead as the night sky ...dawns.

Even my footsteps are hushed

as the world pauses

for moonlight.

I remember the voice I gave you

- inside my head,

as I read

...listened...

to your ...dreams.

...such beautiful sounds

- your dreams.

Words fell down, like prayed for rain
They moistened the dry and thirsty heart
Whispering, softly filling in .. soothing
Places that yearned for a touch..

"Listen..." When I hold my breath ~ silence is so loud it hurts - and then the words ...fall.'

And whenever you write, i need to read, to melt into your vision of life, emotions, being and thinking. You seem to turn your heart inside out, let others share your own personal magic, recall what's maybe gone or forgotten from their lives. You nudge us to feel, to share, to treasure what's most precious, to protect what's most important, most fragile, dreams, secret thoughts et al. Beautiful

No matter what anyone says, we all need human companionship in order to feel like we are someone... compelling poem.

This is a gift to the weary, a mothers arm to rock the world away,a wind to blow the layers of onion sliding down our cheeks, the chime of longing a small hand grasping to love leading.
