"...T'was Just A Country Lane..."

"...T'was Just A Country Lane..."

A Poem by Chris

I'm watching an airplane pass overhead... and daydreaming with the blinking of its lights. Damn, just how silly can a person be to wish so very hard on little 'twinklings' that have no powers to do more than give - more - "nothings" in our lives.

...Comes a time when you haven't even stars for your wishes to dream upon...

"...T'was Just A Country Lane..."

...i know...

i wish... too much

too often

  too long

too hard

     ...too deeply

...and I DO know it.

But it's what I CAN do

...ALL I can do.

It's my heart - ya know?

Chris

Later perhaps, You might find some starlight inside waiting to come out?  It's what we do - release starlight...

trouble with starlight, it can only be detected at night....
There's this aura about your writings that reaches out, searches, feels and then releases that starlight aura to the reader so they can see their way....

T'was Just A Country Lane...seemed so familiar I had to google it...but nope no exact quotes or previous uses....ah yes paraphrased...doing what we can is always what we must friend...in our rapidly waning world of habitual rites and favorite rhymes.

There is NOTHING new under the sun - until - damn, there is...
A really nice write~ This is going to my library~

I like how you took a stereotypical thing to do under the starry sky and transform it into a beautiful dreamy-like poem like this. There's nothing much I can say but tell my thanks as a reader that this is a really worthwhile read and I enjoyed. :)

Awesome write

I'll find the time :) It's vacation here already. Thank you and you should take care also
Hearts and wishes and twinklings and all have a lot to answer for.. but, anyone in her or his own right mind wouldn't want them to disappear. If they did, we'd be empty cups, void of feelings and even more alone.

Watching and wishing is starlight inside and out.. you know that more than anyone.

Sigh... a twinkling of starbright starlight... if only people could traverse those starpaths... and go whereever they wanted.

That was an Ufo...i would think..
the twinkling lights and the sky...did it seem like a plane...
well hardly any difference really...when both are made by men..
the aliens in the wardrobe...the children in the corn..
the poets at the corner-cafe...worry when yer gone away...too long..

strange how living can have its own dues to be collected...
Each piece I read from you is as intricate as sand on the palm, gently sifting through open fingers...your work stays in my heart with a sigh every time I read you xox

I could have sworn I heard chuckling in the background...
I love this-I have often felt the -wish-
and to bring it out in a passing plane just beautiful-that pull that wish for a different moment-a visit-to visit-wishing for a change of pace
your heart-we know
my heart-a wish a visit
a jump
thank you so for sharing
