"Smiling So Softly..."

"Smiling So Softly..."

A Poem by Chris

"Smiling So Softly..."

...the feel of the world sifting down
`tween toes lifting as we each step-in-step
continue -
the "way"...

...sometimes I understand less
now -
of the entirety of the "all" from before...

The taste of real is harsh and thick.
It hurts to even stand still and
still we walk and pace ahead.

The sun - burns.  The sky -
it shimmers with all we aren't
and yet still wish to be.

The voices sound all the paeans
-- as they swirl and twirl through our lives

and still we dream of memories

- some - we wish we had and
others we lost amongst the stars
we touched.

Seems the heavens are full with memories and prayers ..

In the twinkling of an eye , a star ..

Me ..

I feel everything , when I am alone ..

'..The taste of real is harsh and thick. ~ It hurts to even stand still .. '

But surely to feel as much - whatever it is or isn't, is a sign that one's lived or living, experiencing emotions good and bad, memories better forgotten or recalled with open arms? Can living a life ever be a calm trip, surely there'd be something wrong, an existence without experience? And the goods and the bads feed off each other, highlight or camouflage, suffer convenient amnesia ..

Your words always take me somewhere I didn't know i needed to go. ' and still we dream of memories ~ - some - we wish we had '

It seems today is about the toes pointing to some type of understanding, why is it you seem to know the answers before the questions are asked? I'm going to say three hail Mary and touch my toes THEN i'm going to bake a chocolate cake and thank all the gods for all the poets that touch our lives :)

true that ...
"The taste of real is harsh and thick..." --I love that; can't put my finger on exactly why...I just...do. I think, probably, because anyone else would have written it as "reality"...the taste of "real" is just so much...stronger. Of course, if this was a typo *laugh* and you meant to write "reality", then disregard my pretentious blah-blah and pour me a cuppa tea ;-)

Love this.
