"State Of The Union..."

"State Of The Union..."

A Poem by Chris
"

A few Senyru for the Wary

"

Shall we have a mutual approval fest? - chuckling here...

I so like your mirror - can I "borrow" it or is it just one's way?  You saw something worth seeing - could I do less?

"State Of The Union..."

You step to the plate
A curve ball - "STRIKE ONE!" said God.
You "look", shake your head.

You settle back in -

A slider! - "STRIKE TWO!" said God.
..."But - But it was LOOOOW!"

"Are YOU questioning?!?",

"...Its MY call to make, NOT yours..."
..."But - But it was wrong!"

You step out - call "Time!"...
God looks... and the ball bounces...
"STEERRIKE THREE!! - You're OUT!"

You accept as right -

each thing the powers that be
tell you all your life.

You carry your thoughts
back to the dugout - lie down
they shovel quickly.

How many of your ghosts
filled the stands - watching you play
with the lives of others?

Are you so very sure
the Ump IS God? Or was it
just ...authority.

"...and for further thought..."

How do you sight test
anyone that makes the test
into what they see?

Smiles... so lost in daydreams I miss all the balls except the curve-balls .

Got my ice cold beer
my hot dog, and my pop corn
who's batting clean-up?
