The Tribunal

Ex. Extraordinary Large Teepee Day

A giant teepee sits in the middle of a wetland. Gray clouds cover the sky and wet mist covers everything. Smoke cuts through the air flowing out of the teepee. Three figures can be seen walking towards the teepee. Two large muscle men are carrying a small girl. They approach the teepee and throw the girl in.

In. Inside the large teepee

Lilac age 8 hits the hard dirt ground and slowly gets to her feet. Her short black hair is wet and sticks to her face. Her clothes are too big and stick to her they are covered in dirt. On the edges of the Teepee sit a chain of men their faces featureless by the lack of light. Lilac stares around the room in terror her eyes start to water.

A Woman’s Voice

“What is your name child?”

Lilac turns to the voice. In front of her is a tall moss covered and wood craved podium. High Priestess Nightshade age unknown stares down at the small girl. Her face shows great age, but her eyes holds great intensity. Long gray hair fell down her back hitting dark brown bear fur and held together by a leather belt.

Lilac in a whisper

“..Lilac”

High Priestess Nightshade

“Speak child”

Lilac

“Lilac”

High Priestess Nightshade

“What is your full name?”

Lilac

“Child Lilac of the Winter Rain tribe”

Nightshade taps the podium with a long yellow nail.  The room comes alive with whispers. Lilac looks around the room her head whipping to the whispers.

Nightshade

“Young Lilac of Winter Rain, you are under the ring of truth for a crime that will not be spoken”

Lilac

“I am sorry I was just trying… we hadn’t eaten in days”

Nightshade

“Silent child”

The room was a dead silent and the only noise was the sound of Night shade digging her finger deep into the wood making a tally.

Nightshade

“You are before the ring because you stole something”

Lilac stood staring up at the high Priestess her eyes big and hopeless. Lilac goes to speak but her mouth only moves no words come out.

Lilac whisper

“..We needed food...”

Nightshade made another Tally in the wood. Her eyes show an increasing fire, her hair swayed in wind.

Nightshade

“You stole the most important thing to us”

Lilac looked up confused the whispers around the room increase.

Lilac

“I’m sorry”

Nightshade

“Lilac of the winter Rain you are charge with the Killing of the Warrior Red Sky”

Lilac

“I didn’t kill anyone”

Nightshade

“You have been found guilty of this crime and will be sentenced”

Lilac in a panic

“I didn’t kill anyone, please listen, I just took some bread”

Nightshade made a third tally in the podium. Two men stood up from the circle and grape Lilac. Lilac wiggled and fought against their grip.

Nightshade

“You have been sentenced to the Dry Lands to live out the rest of your days waterless.”

The men dragged Lilac out of the tent. Her small feet dug into the brown dirt. Tears glowed down her face cutting through the dirt on her face.

Lilac

“Please I didn’t do it, I’m sorry, please, PLEASE”
