A Peek Into My Life

A Peek Into My Life

A Poem by Anaya
"

a slight pull of the curtians

"

My life,

My disdain,

My back carrying,

My shame.

My eyes,

Holding back the tears,

Caused not because i'm sad,

But due to my mental pains.

I lay on the floor,

Because no matter where I fall,

It's always there,

In my reckless life,

Full of despair.

My bruises bring me a strange comfort,

Simply because they reassure me,

That I really suffered.

I know I cannot swim,

But the ocean waves keep me covered.

I don't eat,

I don't sleep,

I just think,

About how my,

Hope for my future,

Gradually shrinks.

As a person who suffers through depression myself this poem really defines my struggle. And the dwindling of hope which is exacerbated due to this mental health disease. Thank you for sharing your poem.
