Forbidden Us ; Forbidden Lust

Forbidden Us ; Forbidden Lust

A Poem by Anaya
"

I keep loving you... I know I shouldn't

"

Forbidden love.

Forbidden call.

Forbidden touch in the,

Forbidden hall.

Forbidden cries heard from the,

Forbidden stall.

Forbidden phone led to,

Forbidden text.

Forbidden “I miss you”’s from the,

Forbidden hex.

Forbidden rumors about,

Forbidden sex.

Forbidden “I love you”’s I whispered from my,

Forbidden bed.

Forbidden thoughts circling my

Forbidden mind.

Forbidden waste of our,

Forbidden time.

Forbidden glances through those,

Forbidden lines.

Forbidden hands writing these,

Forbidden rhymes, to recap my,

Forbidden love for you one last time.

Don't think I've ever seen a poem with 23 lines all beginning with the same word. Interesting effect. It brings home very powerfully the profound conflict in the speaker's mind. The final line may indicate a decision on the speaker's part to end the deception. Wise choice. No one can live this way without a heavy supply of Xanax.
