Insensate

Insensate

A Poem by Anaya
"

synonym for numb

"

I feel empty inside, more hollow than a tree.

I feel no compassion in my heart, just darkness that creeps.

No spark in my eyes.

No pain in my cries.

There's no true emotion in my life.

I’ve taught my body to be numb.

When it comes to pain I will succumb.

If you look into my mind you will find nothing,

There is none.

Sometimes I crave to feel,

Just to assure life is real.

But i’m pretty sure it’s not.

If it is it’s far from swell.

Why does no one hear my raging screams from hell.

Writing this poem makes me yearn to cry.

I wish you could see how there's no tears in my eyes.

Whilst  all this is said all there is to say,

I will not show emotion, numbness has my full devotion.

Very nice Anaya!

I believe you missed a word "If you "look" into my mind".

I'm on the fence about rhyming hell and swell, it feels a little off.

Other than those small nits, I love this back and forward!

Hope this helps!
